Star In A Car
Secretly, we all think we can top BBC Top Gear's leader board and now is your chance to prove it by taking part in one of the most exciting motorsport challenges around. After individual coaching from your very own Speed Masters and plenty of practice laps, you will be ready to push your 'reasonably priced car' to the limit through lightning fast chicanes and down pure-power straights. With two sessions racing against the clock in race-modified road cars fitted with full race-spec safety gear, nerve, skill and sheer determination are required to get the fastest lap time possible. Every driver gets a place on the leader board, and the five top drivers by November 30th 2011 will be invited back to compete for the coveted first place trophy and a £1000 prize!
Availability
Weekend dates will be held approximately three times a year from April to November during 2011.
Participant Guidelines
Minimum age is 17 and maximum weight is 20 stone. Drivers must hold a full manual car driving licence and be reasonably fit.
Weather
Driving might be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions, when driving at speed may become dangerous. Please call the venue if in doubt. The event operates a weather-weighting system, with wet lap times adjusted for the effect of weather.
Duration
Your experience lasts for around two and a half hours. Please arrive 15 minutes in advance of your booked time for refreshments and to ensure a prompt start. We also recommend you allow for extra time at the end in case the experience runs over.
Numbers On Day
You will share your experience with a group of 15 other eager participants.
Spectators
Spectators are welcome but please note that some of the spectator facilities aren't covered. The fee is £10 per spectator, payable on the day, which includes a souvenir programme. You can also buy hot food.
Dress Code
Dress warmly and comfortably. Wear flat-soled shoes and bring waterproofs if it's wet. Any special equipment you need will be provided.
Other Info
A fully personalised video of your laps (including in-car footage) is available to purchase on the day of the event. Bring your favourite CD to play during your hot laps - it has been known to help! The venue has good wheelchair access viewing areas.
